恋愛でも友情でもない、ただあなたがいればいい―。13日公開の映画「流浪の月」は、メインロケ地の松本をはじめ信州の風景が織りなす世界観を背景に、痛みを抱えて社会の片隅で生きる孤独な男女の物語だ。「自分史上一番難しく、掘っても掘っても答えが見つからない。霧の中でもがいて、さまよっている感じだった」。そう話すのは、広瀬すずと共に主演した松坂桃李。難役への挑戦の裏側を聞いた。
■引き離される場面で握った手の感覚
家にいられない事情を抱えた10歳の家内更紗(かないさらさ)(白鳥玉季/広瀬すず)を、部屋に招き入れたために誘拐犯とされた大学生の佐伯文(ふみ)(松坂桃李)。15年後に偶然再会した二人は周りや世間に理解されない中で、かけがえのない存在として通じ合っていく。原作は「2020年本屋大賞」を受賞した凪良(なぎら)ゆうの同名小説。
松坂演じる文は、世間の目に心も体もすり減らし、綱渡りするように生きてきた役どころ。最も苦労したのは文の内面を掘り下げ、彼を苦しめる“真実”にどう向き合うかだった。「原作や映画でも描かれていない余白の部分をどれだけ想像して、実感として体に染み込ませてカメラの前に立てるかが大きな課題だった。それが一番難しかった」と振り返る。
役作りには時間をかけ、考えられる限りを尽くした。更紗の子役オーディションに参加。カフェを営む役柄のためコーヒーを入れる練習もした。原作に、背は高いけれど威圧感はない―と書かれる文の体作りは撮影の4カ月ほど前から始め、7~8キロ減量。松坂がまとった「深い沼のような空洞の瞳」と「影に溶け込みそうなたたずまい」に、李相日(リサンイル)監督は感嘆した。

"When I read the original, the first thing that came to my mind as an image of the sentence was the lake. It felt like a big and quiet lake. Lake Aoki was also a scene that symbolized the heart of the sentence." The fantastic allegorical nature complements the harsh reality.
I felt the emotion in the cityscape of Matsumoto City, where the location of the cafe run by Bun was located. She smiles, "A river runs through the center of the city, and Matsumoto Castle is nearby. The air is clear, calm and comfortable. I feel familiar with my skin and want to go again."
The play with Hirose, who will be co-starring for the second time, swelled due to a synergistic effect. She describes Hirose as "the physical strength of the play is inexhaustible" and "the more shots you take, the more sophisticated and sharpened you are like a sword." Even when Sarasa, who escaped after being violent by her lover, started crying in front of her sentence, "Every cut has a new discovery, and the way of receiving emotions changes. A really amazing actor." The final scene where Sentence confesses her truth to Sarasa was also created.
